Bike season 2010

... to Höttinger Alm

After the burst (mmh, more an explosion) of the inner tube from the front wheel yesterday evening, I've bought during lunch break a new one. After fixing in the evening, I've started my first bike round for this year to the Höttinger Alm. I've been shocked how crowded it is already. Every year there are more bikers I've to overtake... stressful ;-)
The Höttinger Alm, as well as the Arzler Alm, have not yet opened.
Although at the website of the Arzler you can read, it should been open, there was no light and not a soul to be seen.
The way up to Höttinger, before you get to Arzler, isn't completely bikeable. There is forest work and the guys unloaded the logs all over the way two meters high. You can climb over it with your bike on the shoulder. Then there are 2 or 3 snow hills left from avalanches you have to pass by foot.
The other round, first to Arzler and then up, is bikeable.
It has been a little bit cold during downhill but real fun.

Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor

Wow, I've just watched the great Piano Trio No. 1 in Bavarian TV.
Great classical concert with Lang Lang (Piano), Andreas Röhn (Violin) and Sebastian Klinger (Violoncello).
Classical music often sounds boring to me. But this composition by Mendelssohn is classical music I can recommend.

I've missed snow...

... really ...

Yes, it's true, I've missed the snow.
The last 2 weeks it has been so warm/hot and currently it is snowing again.
Big, fat and white flakes alights.
Do you imagine the view through the window ;-) ?
I've to say that my sentience is better now... might have been the change in weather?!
I don't feel prepared for spring or summer.

My weekend

Censorship in China censors the world

... OK, not completely ;-)

But there was a misconfigured DNS-server of the Chinese BigCensorFirewall which produces problems in the USA and Chile...

Virtualbox USB in Ubuntu Lucid

Although Lucid has replaced HAL you'll still need it to use USB in Virtualbox.

Interesting how interesting...

a 6b in free climbing can be!
Because the local climbing center has been bulging this evening, Martin and I found a free place between some 4s. I've been really surprised how sophisticated this 6b route is.
From now on this will be my favorite in this range ;-)

Music MP3 album download more expensive than CD buy?

I'd like to download the new Wallis Bird album "New Boots" and pay for it.
But the CD costs in Media Markt and at Amazon 9,99 EUR and 7digital claims 10,99 EUR for the download.
Apple sells the downloadable album in iTunes for 8,99 EUR. Well, cheaper, but I don't accept that value by comparison to the CD price.
Won't these guys become wiser?
